Les Paul Special 2 Electric Guitar

In August 2002, I decided to invest in an electric guitar and after much consideration eventually bought this Ephiphone guitar in Waltons for €250. I use the effects board on a Boss BR-532 Digital Recording Studio which I have, instead of buying individual effects boxes.

The sound from the guitar is excellent, the action seems a little tricky but given a little time to experiment you soon get the feel for the guitar.

The Guitar details and technical specifications are listed below.

Its an extremely playable guitar, with a satin-finished neck and 24 - 3/4" scale. Pickup wise, it has two open-coil humbuckers; Smooth Tone potentiometers (one volume, one tone); and Epiphone's exclusive new four-blade, three-way toggle including treble and rhythm. Cosmetics include chrome finish, Dovewing headstock, and E-Series logo.

Guitar Samples

These are some short mp3s, which are designed to show the sound achievable using the Epiphone Special II. I used a midi track with the guitar tracks removed, then used a 4 track recorder to layer an extra 3 guitar tracks on top of that.
